news1 The Father of Cartridge-Based Consoles
June 22, 2009, 01:20 PM by M. Kava
Thought this was interesting. Jerry Lawson was a contemporary of men named Jobs, Wozniak and Bushnell. He created one of the first coin-operated games after Pong. The success of that game led to his employers creating a game for their F Channel CPU (Fairchild's F8) and really kicking off the beginning of cartridge-based consoles. I personally did not know of the F Channel prior to this interview and its impressive to see what one man can do in his garage with a little interest and time. Seeing as Father's Day was yesterday and Jerry Lawson is one of the original Fathers of Modern Gaming, let's celebrate his contributions to the video game world as well.

news1 BioShock and Oblivion Get Bundle for PC and 360
June 17, 2009, 03:46 PM by M. Kava
For the people who are late to either of Bethesda Softworks' titles, you're patience has finally paid off. BioShock and Elder Scroll's IV: Oblivion will go on sale in a bundle starting next month. The 360 bundle will be $40 while the PC bundle is only $30. Hard to turn your nose at this deal, especially with the two games having a combined total of over 80 "Game of the Year" awards. If you have don't have either or only have one of these titles, next month is the time to buy.

news1 Zelda Universe: Immortal Childhood

ebuch, of WZMR and ZREO fame, recently pointed out a great article over at Zelda Universe. I've quoted his thoughts about it below.
Quote
To me, this article seemed to make a whole lot of sense. Time seems like a nasty thing to try to mess with, and it's best to learn to move on with the flow of things. I highly recommend that you all give this a full read, if not now then bookmark it for later but this is a one of a kind. If it doesn't change your perspective on the Zelda games, it will change your perspective on life.

Certainly worth a read. Entertaining and thought provoking, at least about the Legend of Zelda series. Article: Immortal Childhood
